MEDELA BREASTPUMP RECALL

Medela has issued a voluntary recall on a limited number of Pump In Style Advanced breast pumps. According to Medela, this does not affect the WIC Pump In Style breast pumps.

There is no safety issues associated with this recall. A component on the control board, after a period of usage, may cause the motor to slow down or stop. The pumps that are being recalled were manufactured between February 10, 2010 and March 3, 2010 and were shipped through retail channels between February 10, 2010 and April 30, 2010.

Below is a list of the recalled pumps and their article numbers:

If any of the above Pump In Style Advanced breast pumps exhibits the following issues, a replacement unit can be received:

-the pump will not turn on;
-the pump turns off on its own;
-the pump reduces or loses suction during the pumping process; or
-the pump is making clicking noises.

To obtain a replacement product, enter the information on the Return Request Form at http://www.medelabreastfeedingus.com/product-returns-request. A postage paid shipping label will be emailed to you after you complete the information. The recalled unit being replaced must be shipped back to Medela at Medela's cost. Again, this does not affect the WIC Pump In Style which was recently provided to some agencies.
